Doverodde & Ydby Hede - Thy
The area by the Limfjord at the south-eastern end of Thy offers a rich and varied landscape with lots of history.
Here you can hike in the area around Doverodde town, which in addition to Købmandsgården also has a fantastically beautiful location in one of the Limfjord's most scenic and culturally interesting areas.
On thousand-year-old hollow roads you can walk among the Oldtidshøjene on Ydby Hede, which make up the country's largest group of Bronze Age mounds. You also come all the way down to Skibsted Fjord, part of Limfjorden.
Along the way, you will hike through protected and nature-protected areas as well as lush farmland. Both the natural areas and the agricultural land change colors and expressions with the weather and the changing seasons.
A visit to the Statens Museum for Art's only branch outside of Copenhagen is obvious here, but you can also experience artworks from local artists from Thy at the museum in Heltborg. The museum also offers many other exciting experiences, including an Iron Age farm.
In the area, four hiking trails have been selected, which extend over a total of up to 15.5 km, as well as a bonus trail of 8 km for those with several kilometers in their legs. These trails allow you to explore the diversity of the area and enjoy the beautiful nature.
Please note that accommodation, transport (own car) and meals are not included in the price.
