Tranum and the marshes - Jammerbugt

The hiking area offers unique experiences when you hike in the dunes, plantations and marshes at Tranum in Jammerbugten.

Go on a breathtaking hike through the beautiful heath areas in the scenic dunes at Rødhus.

Take charming walks through the marshes on narrow grass-covered paths that take you dry-shod through the area. This provides a perfect way to explore the varied terrain and unique nature that the bogs have to offer.

You can wander through the picturesque surroundings of Tranum Klitplantage, where you can immerse yourself in the beautiful, wooded nature and maybe be lucky enough to see cranes, teal ducks and ravens from the bird tower.

Also try a path that leads you around the lakes that were once gravel pits and from here, the trip goes through soft, hilly inland dunes with heather and low scrub. Be on the lookout for the nearly hidden 5,000-year-old round doldrums hiding along the trail.

If you need a little break from the hike, you can get into the Christmas spirit by visiting Gammelbo and saying hello to Etly Klarborg's elves. You can also experience a true paradise of candles, glass and clay, as well as enjoy beautiful art in the area.

In the hiking area, you can explore four trails that stretch a total of up to 15 km, as well as a bonus trail of 4.2 km for those in excellent shape.
