Hiking trails, adventures and places to eat
Uggerby Klitplantage
Uggerby Plantage was established in the period 1894-1955 and extends over Uggerby Klit. The southern part has steep slopes down towards Uggerby Å, while the western part borders Lilleheden Plantage. In the north, it meets sea dunes and the sea.
The terrain consists mainly of drifting sand cover and gravelly soil near the coast. Heights reach up to 24 m above sea level at the Vagtbakker and 12 m at the sea dunes.
The forest is dominated by sitka spruce and pine trees, each covering approximately one third of the area. There are also broad-leaved trees, primarily in mixed stands, as well as an older oak area from 1904.
The nearby Uggerby Å is known for its excellent sea trout fishing.
Tversted Klitplantage
Tversted Klitplantage, between Tversted town and Skiveren, is one of North Jutland's oldest plantations. The area offers Tverstedsøerne, a nature playground and several recreational facilities. You will also find Østerklit farm from the 17th century and Denmark's only working rooftop mill here.
The landscape around Tversted is part of Skagen Odde and has a fascinating history. About 7000 years ago, the land rose from the sea and Tversted Rimmer arose, separated by two fjord systems. This landscape is now covered with drifting sand and fossilized fjords. Finds show settlements from the Ertebølle culture to the Viking Age.
In the middle of the 19th century, Tversted Klitplantage was established to combat sand drift along the coasts of Jutland. Under the leadership of PC Weirum and HC Riegel, the forest was planted and expanded. Now the plantation is run with a focus on natural rejuvenation and landscape conservation.
Tversted Klitplantage offers a unique mix of nature and cultural history. Through hiking routes, oberservation towers and historic sites, you can explore the area's beauty and history.

Ideal sequence of the paths in relation to transport
We recommend that you walk the hiking trails in the following order (or vice versa) to get the shortest possible transport distance between the trails:
- Uggerby Klitplantage - west 3.2 km ( Bt1)
- Uggerby Klitplantage - east 5 km (1)
- Tversted Å 3.2 km (3)
- The Østerklit route 7 km (1)
- Ravklit route 3 km (Bt2)
You can choose to skip paths so that the distance fits what you want to walk.
If, for example, you wish to walk 12 km, you can skip Uggerby Klitplantage - west and instead start with Uggerby Klitplantage - east. Then, skip Tversted Å and walk the Østerklit route, ending your walk after this.
