Hanstholm & the Wildlife Reserve - Thy National Park
The area in the northernmost part of Thy National Park offers unique experiences when you hike in and around Hanstholm Wildlife Reserve. With its almost 40 square kilometers, the wildlife reserve is the largest continuous dune area in Denmark.
On your hike you can climb Isbjerg, which is the highest point in the game reserve with its 56 metres. When you stand at the top and look out over the fantastic open spaces, it will be crystal clear why Hanstholm Wildlife Reserve is called Denmark's largest wilderness.
Along the way, with a little luck, you can see large herds of red deer. When the males roar across the wilderness on a quiet evening at sunset, you can almost forget the present and feel transported back to primeval times.
In addition, you also have the opportunity to have a special walking experience in the area around Bunkermuseum Hanstholm. This area bears the stamp of war history and offers exciting memories of the past.
The hiking area's 6 trails cover a distance of up to 16.9 km, and there is also a bonus trail of 4.9 km for those with more kilometers in their legs. These trails allow you to explore and enjoy the unique nature and impressive landscape.
Please note that accommodation, transport (own car) and meals are not included in the price.
