Saltum and Vildmosen - Jammerbugt

In the hiking area, at Saltum you can experience varied hiking routes through forests, fields, lakes, hills and valleys. You can follow the footpaths in the fields around Saltum and the forest trails by Nols Sø, which provide a wonderful walk in the uneven terrain.

Along the hiking trails, you pass the cozy forest and the gallows hill by Nols Sø, where you can see ducks and other birds.

On your trips near Saltum, you will also pass the historic Saltum Church from 1150, which is located a little outside Saltum.

In Store Vildmose you can walk on the old stepping stones, which were laid around the year 250, so that you could cross the swampy bog. You will also pass through areas with drained bogs and dense stands of birch trees, which create a special atmosphere.

An additional experience in the area is a visit to the fascinating Local Museum in Saltum with its working workshops, and the intriguing exhibitions at Vildmoseporten.

In the hiking area, you can hike on five trails that stretch a total of up to 16.2 km, as well as a bonus trail of 7.1 km for those with really good fitness.
