Shelters in North Jutland (Hjørring)
The shelters in North Jutland (Hjørring) are primitive accommodations located in scenic surroundings such as dune plantations, old beech forests and near the sea.
They offer simple facilities where you can enjoy the scenery, the silence and activities such as finding herbs for bjesk (a strong alcoholic beverage) and watching birds.
Some shelters can be reserved in advance, while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis. In certain cases, there will be a small payment to use the shelter.

Slettingen shelters
The shelters are situated in a lovely, bright, open area.
There are four 3-person and two 6-person shelters.
At the site, there are 2 picnic tables, a fire pit with a grill grate, firewood, and drinking water available during the summer season. There is a composting toilet by the parking area, approximately 300 meters from the shelters, accessible via Nørlevvej/Slettingenvej.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tornby Klitplantage - primitive shelter site
The shelter site is located on a beautiful open meadow surrounded by trees by Skidterisø.
There is a shelter with room for 6 people.
On the site there are table-bench sets, a fire pit with a grill grate, and drinking water in the summer. There is also a composting toilet. It is not allowed to drive to the site by car.
The shelter cannot be reserved and can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bjergby - Mygdal YMCA shelters
The shelters are located on a small clearing near the scout house, surrounded by trees on three sides.
There are 3 shelters, each accommodating 3-4 people.
The site has 2 fire pits. Near the scout house, there are table-bench sets. There is no access to water and toilet facilities.
The shelters must be reserved.

Fårehegnet shelter
The shelter site in Uggerby Klitplantage is a grassy plain surrounded by forest. There is no shelter from the west, but there is almost a guarantee of seeing deer in the morning and evening.
There is one shelter for approx. 8 people and space for tents.
On the site there is a fire pit with a grill grate and benches as well as a table and bench set. There is water in the summer. Next to the square there is a composting toilet. You cannot drive to the square.
The shelter cannot be reserved and can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stranden shelters
The second shelter site in Uggerby Klitplantage is located at a perfect distance from the sea, but still in the plantation and the forest, which provide a framework for coziness.
There are 4 shelters here, each with room for six people.
At the location, there are toilets and drinking water available from Easter through the entire summer. Additionally, there are table-bench sets and fire pits with grill grates. Typically, firewood is also available on-site. Access to the area is not possible by car.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tversted - Østerklit shelters
The shelter site is located on the south-eastern part of a large grass plain a few hundred meters from the sea.
There are two 6-person and one 8-person shelters on the site.
On the site there are also fire pits with grill grates and table-bench sets. Toilets and water are available in the summer months close by - in the exhibition building Østerklit Stokmølle nearby. You are not allowed to drive to the site.
The two shelters cannot be booked, but are "first come, first served". The last 6-person shelter - "Linnæa" - can be booked . If it is not booked, it can also be used "first come, first served".

Bindslev Elværk shelters
The shelter site is located at one end of a lovely open area in complete shelter in the vegetation close to the old power station.
There are two large 6-person shelters and 2 smaller ones for 4-5 people.
On the site there are tables/bench sets, a fire pit with grill grate and firewood, a picnic hut, and a playground. Water and toilets are available at Elværket approx. 150m from the square.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

The camp site is located on the playground at the other end of the lovely open area, completely sheltered in the vegetation by the old power plant.
There is a 2-3 person shelter.
On the site there are tables/bench sets, a fire pit with a grill grate and firewood, a picnic hut, and a playground. Water and toilets are available at Elværket approx. 150m from the square.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tolne Nature Park
Uggerby Å at Mosbjerg shelters
The shelter site is located down to Uggerby Å in a cozy little open square.
There are five shelters on the site, each with space for 2 people.
There are several table/bench sets and a fire pit with grate. There is also composting toilet and water post. The site is only for cyclists and hikers.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tislum Bakker - Hørmested shelter
The shelter site is secluded on private land surrounded by small and medium-sized trees and bushes. There is lovely sunshine in the evenings.
There is a shelter for 5 people on the site.
Here you'll find 2 fire pits with grills, table-bench sets, 3 movable tree stumps used as seating, a firewood shed, and a cage for storing food. The cage door can be locked with your own padlock. Additionally, there is a composting toilet and a water tap.
The shelter can be booked. It costs a small amount to use the space.

Sindal Marina shelters
The campsite is located on a lovely meadow, which has Uggerby Å as its nearest neighbour.
There are 2 shelters at the shelter site for 4-6 people each.
The marina has a toilet, water, tables/benches and a fire pit.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Slotved Dyrehave - shelter
The shelter site is undisturbed at the foot of a large ravine, ideal for enjoying the morning and evening atmosphere in the wildlife park.
There is one shelter here with room for approx. 6 people and a grill.
The site is approx. 100 meters from the car park, where there is water, a toilet and a waste container all year round. Firewood can be picked up at the food parcel house approx. 400 meters to the east. There is also a grill and a table/bench set.
It is not permitted to set up anything with cords/ropes, as the animals in in the wildlife park may be injured.
The shelter can be booked . If it is not booked, it must be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

The shelter site is located in hilly woodland with mixed vegetation on an open clearing.
The shelter is a combined fire hut and shelter with space for up to 12 people to stay overnight.
There is a fire pit with a grill and table-bench sets. Firewood is available for purchase. Additionally, there is a water tap and a composting toilet at the site.
The shelter can be reserved here. A small fee is charged for overnight stays. Scouts have priority access to the shelter.

The shelter site is located in hilly woodland with mixed vegetation in a small clearing.

The shelter can be reserved here. A small fee is charged for overnight stays. Scouts have priority access to the shelter.

The site is located in a small cozy clearing surrounded by trees in hilly terrain, not far from the protected Baggesvogn Manor.
There are 3 small shelters with space for 3 people each.
At the site, there are 2 table-bench sets, a fire pit with a grill grate, firewood, a composting toilet, and drinking water available during the summer months. The shelters can be locked with a padlock brought by visitors.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nr. Lyngby Søernes shelters
The shelter site is situated with a view of two uniquely landscaped lakes and also with a view of the North Sea, well protected from the wind by two earth embankments.
The site has been established with 2 shelters, where there is room for 6 people in each.
There is a composting toilet and the site is supplied with drinking water. There is also a fire pit with 2 fire pits and the possibility of buying firewood on site. Furthermore, the space is equipped with tables and benches as well as shelters.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis. A small amount is paid for the overnight stay.

Kajholm shelters
The site is located in the middle of the forest in a cozy "pocket" sheltered from almost all sides.
There are three 6-person shelters.
The site has a composting toilet, water (in the summer), a fire pit with a grill grate and benches, as well as a small picnic shelter with 2 picnic tables. There is often a stack of stored firewood that you can saw and split yourself.
The one shelter "Rævehulen" can be booked. If it is not booked, "first come, first served" applies, just like at the other 2 shelters.
North Jutland - Hundelev

The shelter site is located on Hundelev Fælled in a small forest with an open area.
There are 6 shelters on the site.
There is a picnic shelter, a table/bench set and a fire pit with grate.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bakholm shelters
The shelter site is located in a small, cozy nook surrounded by trees, completely sheltered from the wind.
There are 2 shelters/barrels, each accommodating 2-3 adults, equipped with lighting and outlets for charging mobile devices.
At the site, there is a picnic table, a fire pit (firewood is in the playhouse in the garden), and access to toilet and water year-round, located next to the two gates by the house, approximately 50 meters from the shelters.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are used on a first-come, first-served basis. (Dogs are not allowed),

Vejby Kulturhus shelters
The shelter site is located near the Culture House on an open grassy area with little wind.
The site features 4 large shelters with doors, each accommodating 6 people.
There is a fire pit with a grill, firewood, and a wood splitter. Additionally, there is access to a toilet, water, and a shower.
The shelters cannot be reserved and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a small fee for overnight stays.
