West Jutland (Lemvig) offers scenic shelters on the coast, in dense forests and in open fields, where you can wake up to the Limfjord's mirror-clear waters and rich birdlife.
Some sites can be reserved online in advance, while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Some shelters require a small user fee, which typically goes towards operation and maintenance.

Aa-Mølle shelter
The Aa-Mølle shelter is beautifully located at the eastern end of the mill lake and blends naturally into the landscape.
There is room for approximately 8 people in the shelter.
At the shelter there are tables and benches, a fire pit with a grill (firewood can be purchased) and a waste bin. There is a toilet in the parking lot. The water at the toilets is not suitable for drinking, so it is recommended to bring your own water.
This shelter can be booked . If it is not booked, it is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nature Assembly shelters
The Nature Assembly with shelters is located on a small square surrounded by trees in the quiet village of Gudum.
The three shelters can accommodate approximately four people each.
The site offers a campfire hut with a grill, table and bench set, compost toilet, outdoor tap and shared kitchen and orchard for free use.
The shelters can be used free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bike Point shelters
Bike Point Klosterheden shelters are located in the middle of Klosterheden's lush forest landscape, surrounded by tall trees and with easy access to the silence of nature.
The two shelters each accommodate 4 people.
The site has a table and bench set, a campfire site with a grill, access to toilet and stable facilities, and firewood for the campfire included when booking.
You book online or by phone and you pay an amount per person per night, which gives access to shelter, toilet, stable and firewood.

Private shelter
The shelter site is peacefully located in a small piece of forest, away from the noise of the city, and offers a tranquil nature experience with simplicity and charm.
The shelter can accommodate up to four people with a double bed and a sofa bed.
The site offers a covered terrace with an outdoor kitchen, electric kettle, hot plates, outdoor shower with hot water, campfire site, shed with campfire equipment, compost toilet, soil refrigerator, drinking water and electricity.
Booking is done via Airbnb , where you can reserve and get further information about the stay. Payment is per night. (Minimum 2 nights).

Oasis shelter
Oasen with the shelter is located in the middle of Fabjerg town's green common area, surrounded by buildings, kitchen gardens and orchards, where the covered area forms a cozy gathering point.
The shelter has space for 4-5 people.
There are covered table/bench sets, a campfire site with a grill, a large green living area for play and activities, and the opportunity to get water from nearby taps and use a public toilet in the village.
The OASEN can be used by everyone on a first-come, first-served basis without prior reservation.

Byskov Mose shelter
Byskov Mose shelter is located at the former sewage treatment plant surrounded by forest, lake and observation tower - a quiet natural environment close to the city.
There is a possibility of overnight accommodation in the attic of the campfire hut for up to 20 people.
There is a barbecue/firepit with a grill, several tables/benches, a primitive toilet with running water, a viewing tower and a lake, and usually free firewood in the woodshed.
The shelter must be booked via the Nørre Nissum Citizens' Association.

Fritidsklubben Østhallens shelter
The shelter and fire pit are located in the woods behind Østhallen, surrounded by green areas next to the football pitches — a peaceful retreat close to the club’s facilities.
The shelter accommodates approximately four people.
The site features two picnic table-and-bench sets and a fire pit with a grill grate. If you’re staying overnight, you can borrow a key fob to Østhallen to access water and toilet facilities.
The shelter must be bookes through Rikke Poulsen. A small fee is charged per person.

Høgsgård Strand shelter
Høgsgård Strand shelter is idyllically located at Høgsgaard Strand with a magnificent view of Nissum Bredning, Agger Tange and the surrounding marshland.
It has space for 8–10 people.
There is a table/bench set, a fire pit with a grill, access to water and a primitive toilet on the beach, and in the summer a bathing jetty is set up.
The shelter must be booked via the Nørre Nissum Citizens' Association.

The Knudepunktet shelter
The Knudepunktet is a new shelter site established in 2024 located on an open grassy area in Nr. Nissum near the Limfjord. The area is ideal for play and outdoor activities and will eventually become more sheltered through planting.
The site contains four shelters, each with space for 4-5 people, allowing for overnight accommodation for up to 20 people in total.
Facilities include a campfire hut with benches, two campfire sites (one indoor and one outdoor), several table/bench sets, and barbecue grills. There is no access to water and toilets yet, but this is under development (May 2025).
The shelter site can be booked by contacting Fabjerg-Nr. Nissum YMCA Scouts.

Nr. Nissum Håndbryg luxury shelter is located in a peaceful garden at Nr. Nissum Håndbryg, surrounded by green areas and close to a small lake.
The shelter can accommodate up to four people and is equipped with mattresses, duvets and pillows for extra comfort.
Facilities include lighting, power for charging mobile phones, tarpaulin and mosquito net, as well as access to toilets and showers in the immediate vicinity.

Risbæk Shelter Site
Risbæk Shelterplads at Staldhøjvej is beautifully situated surrounded by forest and open fields.
There are three shelters on the site, each accommodating 7–9 people.
The facilities include a table and bench set, a campfire/grill area with a grill, often firewood on site (saw and split yourself), water at the parking lot's toilet facilities, and a luggage room.
Shelters 1 and 2 must be booked. Shelter 3 is on a first come, first served basis.

The Dollemosen shelter is located in an open pine forest with a view over Dollemosen and the surrounding nature, surrounded by conifer trees and peaceful moss land.
The shelter accommodates 3 people.
The site features a fire pit with a grill and two benches. There is no water tap or toilet.
The shelter cannot be booked – it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Moselyst shelter is beautifully located by a small fishing lake in the middle of Klosterheden Plantage, surrounded by conifers and birdlife.
