Shelters in Jammerbugt
In the Jammerbugt area you will find a rich selection of enchanting shelters that give you the opportunity to spend the night in the middle of the beautiful nature.
Regardless of whether you prefer the wild west coast or the quieter Limfjord, there are shelter options for every taste. When you spend the night in one of the shelters, you can feel closer to nature, enjoy the starry sky in the evening and wake up to the spectacular sunrises.
Some shelters can be reserved in advance, while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis. In certain cases, there will be a small payment to use the shelter. This fee often helps to maintain and improve the facilities so that they can continue to be available to visitors.
Vester Torup & Klim Bjerg
Vester Torup shelter
The shelter is located on the forest playground at Thorup Strandvej in the eastern part of Vester Torup Plantage.
On the site there is a shelter with room for 7 people.
There is also a fire hut, fire pit with grill grate, several table and bench sets, water and forest playground, as well as a toilet in the car park approx. 100m from there.
This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Vester Thorup & Klim Bjerg
Klim Bjerg shelter
The site is located at the edge of the escarpment on Klim Bjerg and there is a fantastic view of the plantation from the shelter.
There is a shelter on the site with room for 6 people.
There are two benches in the form of 2 sawn logs around a fire place. Water is found below the slope. There is no toilet.
This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fårddam Sande shelters
The site is located on a beautiful, private nature plot right by Fårdam Sande.
There are shelters on the site with room for 6 people.
There are two benches in front of the shelter. Water is available at the car park approx. 100m from the shelter. No open flames may be used. The cooking island can be used for trangia or similar. There is no toilet.
This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Svinkløv & Kollerup
Kollerup shelter
The site is situated in the middle of the plantation on a slope with a fantastic view over an open area.
There is a shelter for 6-7 people on the site.
In addition, there is a fire pit with a grill grate and a toilet. There is a water dispenser in the car park by the dog forest approx. 700m from the shelter.
This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fosdalen and Langdalen
Janum Kjøt shelter
The site is a cozy little open space close to Janum Kjøt. At the site there are information boards and an illustration and adventure story by the artist Mette Rehné.
At the shelter site there is a shelter with space for approx. 4 people.
In addition, there is a fire pit, firewood and a table and bench set. There is no water tap or toilet.
The place does not need to be booked. The "first-come, first-served" principle applies.
Fosdalen & Langdalen
Lerup Church shelter
The site is located in the eastern part of Fosdal plantation, between Lerup Church and Fosdalen next to a small forest road
There is 1 shelter on the site with room for 7 people.
There is a fire pit with grill grate and two benches. Toilet and water are available at the church about 100m from the shelter.
This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Langdal shelter
The shelter site is located in a clearing in the northern part of Langdal plantation.
On the site there is 1 shelter with room for 7 people.
There is also a fire pit with grill grate and table and bench set. Toilet and water point are available at the forest playground approx. 500 m from the shelter.
This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tranum School shelters
The shelters are located by the playground at Tranum School.
On the site there are 2 shelters with room for 2 people each.

The Scouts in Tranum shelter
The shelter site is located behind the scout house in an open space surrounded by trees.
On the site, there is 1 combined shelter, picnic house, and campfire hut with space for 8-12 people.
There are fire pits/grills with grates and picnic table sets. Additionally, there is a compost toilet and access to a water tap on the site.
This shelter cannot be booked and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tranum & the Marshes
Ajs Holes Plads shelters
The shelter site is an open space surrounded by trees next to a small forest road, where you are really far away from everything. There is a dark night sky here for stargazing and the roar of deers in autumn.
There are two shelters, each with space for approx. 6 people and an old work van with a tiled stove, where you can seek shelter in rain or cold (but not overnight).
There is a fire pit with grill grate, table/bench set, drinking water (summer) and toilet.
Please note that you cannot drive onto the site.

Blokhus Klitplantage shelters
The site is on a lovely, sheltered, small plain surrounded by old, beautiful pine trees with the shelters located in one corner
There are 4 shelters with space for approx. 6 people in each shelter.
On the site there are also fire pits, grill grate, table/bench set, mud toilet and water tap - the water tap is located at the entrance to the site and is open during the summer.
The place can only be booked by groups such as school classes or scout groups. The shelters can be used on a first-come, first-served basis when no bookings have been made.

Oasen - V.Hjermitslev shelters
The shelter site is right next to the lake in Oasen, which is a nature area in Vester Hjermitslev of 2.5 ha.
On the site there are 2 large shelters with room for 4-5 people each.
There is also a table/bench set, fire pit with grill grate and firewood. There is access to a toilet and drinking water at Forenings- og Kulturhuset "Lunden" on the opposite side of the road.

Vildmoseporten shelters
In the field to the west of the farm (Vildmoseporten) there is a beautiful shelter space. Here you can fall asleep to the sound of the muffled birdsong, and wake up again with the first whistles and beeps at dawn.
There are 3 shelters on the site, each with space for 3-4 people.
There is also a fire pit here. There is a toilet and water on the farm nearby.

Ryå Efterskole shelters
At Ryå Efterskole there is a small shelter area with a fitness and obstacle course right next to the shelters, so there is an opportunity for training and play for the whole family.
There are 2 shelters for 2 and 4 people.
There is a water tap, table-bench set and fire pit on the site. There is access to a toilet (during school hours from 07.00-22.00) at the school.
Please note that during the period at From 22.00 to 07.00 the square must be quiet, and consumption of alcohol and tobacco smoking is not permitted.

Stenalderly shelter in Aaby Skoven shelter
The overnight site in Aaby Skoven is located together with the picnic site on an open plain, so expect that there may be wind.
On the square there is a 6-person shelter "Stenalderly".
In addition to the shelter, there is a bonfire hut, fire pit, table and bench set, drinking water and space for play. There is also a compost toilet right next to the site.
The shelter can be booked – If the shelter is not booked, it can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Den grønne kile i Biersted shelters
The shelter site is located in a green area in Biersted called "The Green Wedge". Here, you'll also find a sledding hill, nature playground, asphalt court for hockey, and plenty of space for play and fun.
The shelter is a large one, accommodating around 8-10 people.
Next to the shelter, there's a campfire pit and picnic table set. Additionally, there's a campfire hut on the site. There is no access to water or toilets.
